Lany Silva might be the one of the most-intriguing women’s strawweight fighters on Earth—and she isn’t in the UFC… at least not yet. That could change soon.

The 22-year-old Brazilian scored a head-kick KO of Rose Conceição to capture the Legacy Fighting Alliance’s 115-pound title.

The KO went viral on Friday night, pushing Silva’s name to the forefront of the MMA discussion—just a day before Weili Zhang defends the UFC’s strawweight championship against Tatiana Suarez at UFC 312 in Australia.

Here is a look at Silva’s KO:

Silva improved to 7-1 with the KO, which came in the fifth round of a closely contested battle. She entered the fight ranked No. 73 among strawweights, according to Fight Matrix, but that is sure to change following her explosive victory. The win for Silva could be a precursor to her first shot at landing in the UFC.

Conceição has now lost two fights in a row. She had her own shot at making the UFC roster in September 2024 but lost a unanimous decision to Alexia Thainara, failing to earn a contract.

LFA is one of the top feeder organizations for the UFC. Fighters like Gregory Rodrigues, Terrence McKinney, Azamat Bekoev and Derrick Lewis are all former LFA champions who successfully made the jump to the UFC.

Because of the viral nature of Silva’s finish, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her get a shot in the UFC on an upcoming card. If Silva doesn’t get that opportunity before August, she might defend her title in the spring or early summer before potentially being part of Dana White’s Contender Series Season 9.

If that happens, expect Silva to be one of the more high-profile participants in the upcoming season. Silva is up to 58,000 followers on Instagram as of early Saturday morning. Expect that number to grow as the highlight-reel KO makes its rounds through the MMA community.

Because of Silva’s youth, the UFC may want to take it slow with her as to not match her too tough too soon, but there is some star potential in the young kickboxer.

Speaking of UFC 312, here is a look at the lineup of fights along with the weigh-in results.
